Hot Takes: The Spiciest of Opinions

E3 2018 Predictions: Square Enix Showcase

For the first time in three years the gaming public will be getting an announcement show from Square Enix. Not the traditional stage show that’s typical for E3, but something akin to Nintendo’s “Nintendo Direct” videos.

There is much that is known about the company’s upcoming releases and even more that isn’t. Square Enix has the potential to be one of the most exciting shows depending on the surprises under the company has kept under their caps.

E3 2018 Predictions: Bethesda

Last year’s Bethesda conference was fast paced and full of interesting releases. Bethesda has placed themselves as one of the most exciting conferences every year.

This year Bethesda will have slight challenges as some of their biggest announcements either leaked or were teased prior to the show. That being the case the two games, Fallout 76 and Rage 2, that leaked have generated a large amount of excitement. If Bethesda has any other surprises it will make for one exciting show.

E3 2018 Predictions: Microsoft

Microsoft has had to take a more defensive position since the announcement of the Xbox One than the when they dominated with the Xbox 360 in the previous generation.

Last year at their press conference they showed off the powerful Xbox One X console, but did not show many exclusive titles to counter its console rivals. They are poised to show some unique experiences this year, though what they could be remains to be seen.

E3 2018 Predictions: EA Play

With less than two weeks to go, buzz is already building in the lead up to the Electronic Entertainment Expo. With high profile leaks from Walmart Canada, and countdowns counting down to more countdowns, the hype machine is hard at work competing for attention.

But where is the fun in what is already known? The real fun is in setting wildly high expectations and trying to figure out what sorts of strategies and announcements that will be seen in each show.

‘Battlefield V’ Unveiled, Release Date Announced

World War II was the bloodiest conflict in human history. Lasting from 1939 to 1945, the conflict saw over 30 nations and 100 million people involved in a globe spanning conflict the world had never seen before.

The popular culture depictions and reenactments of the Second World War typically focus on the larger battles like the Siege of Stalingrad, The Storming of Normandy, and the Battle of Midway.

Though these battles proved to be key to the Allies winning the war they often overshadow some other battles in parts of the world where people lived and died for just as noble a cause.

Dice and Electronic Arts hope to try to tell some of those stories in the newly unveiled war game, Battlefield V.
