After nearly two and a half years of waiting, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is receiving its next anime adaptation. Vento Aureo or “Golden Wind” was revealed to be getting an October 2018 release window from series creator Hirohiko Araki during a Jojo’s art exhibition.
Part 5, Vento Aureo, was originally printed in manga form from late 1995 through mid 1999. In this iteration of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure audiences follow Giorno Giovanna the human son of popular antagonist Dio Brando. This is the first departure from the Joestar bloodline since the inception of the series.
The Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure series has become a cult classic since the anime series have made their way west. With its quirky humor and super stylized art, Jojo’s sets itself apart from other anime. The anime’s trademark over-the-top poses and many references to rock and roll icons will also be returning.
Video of the Vento Aureo teaser has started to find it’s way onto the internet. While the teaser does not show much substance it’s the first real animation of the new season.
David Productions, the anime house in charge of the first four seasons of Jojo’s, has signed on to do season five. Having done all of the previous seasons, Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency, Stardust Crusaders and Diamond is Unbreakable, it seems the relationship between Araki and David Productions is strong and may continue beyond this season.
