Looks like Activision and Bungie’s Destiny series will be receiving some competition next year with Anthem, EA and Bioware’s new IP.

Shown off during Microsoft’s E3 conference, Anthem looks to bring players to a strange sci-fi future filled with alien creatures and powered suits.

Exploring and fighting in an open-world, players use a customizable array of mech suits called “Javelins” to combat a variety of threats.

Completing quests and gathering loot seems to be a core tenet of the game. Four players were shown gathering for a quest just before the end of the demo.

Anthem releases sometime in 2018
