Sega announced that it is re-launching fan-favorite Vanquish today.
Vanquish, made by Platinum games, was first discovered on the Steam page for Sega’s recent release of Bayonetta. Fans of the cult hit hoped for an impending release. Shortly before announcement Sega began teasing a release via Twitter.
Today it was announced that it would be released on Steam for $14.99 on May 25. Gamers can pre-order now to receive the Digital Deluxe Edition upgrade for free. Those that already own or purchase Bayonetta for steam before May 25 will receive a 25 percent discount off of the purchase of Vanquish
Sega has updated the game, promising an unlocked frame rate and 4K support. The company have also added full mouse and keyboard support. A full suite of graphics options including anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, SSAO lighting, scalable texture and shadow quality will also be available.
Vanquish was originally released for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, receiving an 84 on metacritic. Popular for its third-person shooting and cover mechanics, similar to Epic Games Gears of War, but with very over-the-top action and flair.
